Sunday Gulch Trail. Sunday Gulch Trail. It is one of the most popular trails in the area and is rated as a difficult hike. This loop, which is 4 miles long, starts near Sylvan Lake at Custer State Park. It takes you through a valley filled with boulders. The views from the valley will be stunning and you’ll see amazing rock formations. You can see many rare plants as well as a variety of trees along the trail.
Elk Creek Trail. Elk Creek Trail is a 5 mile out-and back trail through the Black Hills. There are many stops along the way to take in the peacefulness and silence. Take your pups for a walk (but don’t forget to clean up after them!) Spend the day outdoors with friends and family.
