It is recommended that you bring small bags or suitcases when packing and flat shoes as this will make the ascend to your Treehouse retreat much easier.

The Treehouse has one king-sized bed that sleeps two adults, a hot tub for 2, an ensuite shower, TV/DVD, great views, an iron and ironing board, and a hairdryer. The Treehouse has a private hot tub, dishwasher, fridge/freezer, parking, linen, and towels. The Treehouse is the perfect, peaceful, holiday hideaway near York. The cabin is tucked away at the foot of the Yorkshire Wolds, on the edge of the small village of Bishop Wilton and not far from the historic city of York, where the owners have created a tranquil and peaceful haven for you. Nestled amongst wildlife are seven beautifully designed lodges, two lovingly hand-crafted Snug Huts, and the unique Treehouse. You’ll want to escape to your perfect holiday location at Wolds Edge. Wolds Edge is perfectly situated for walking holidays whatever your level, the area offers a great starting point for a number of the region’s more well-known walks, or for simply striding out along one of the many local routes.

Bishop Wilton, flat/low level. For a straightforward stroll suitable for all abilities you can simply explore the village and surrounding area. The quiet country roads offer flat terrain to walk (or even run if you pack your running things) or push prams and push chairs. These local routes are ideal for just a 10-minute walk or a simple round-the-village circuit (approx 40 mins) straight out of the entrance to Wolds Edge. There are some local bridleways and footpaths that are also flat, although not always great for small wheels. It would be worth bringing your boots for these through the winter months.

Longer Local Routes. Fangfoss Circuit or Worsendale Hill (longer local routes). There is a super 8km circuit that takes you straight out of Wolds Edge, cross country and along the local roads, and back to your lodge with the added benefit of a lovely local pub halfway for refreshments. Heading over to Fangfoss on this local bridleway and then on footpaths along the road and back, this is a fantastic route for any day. You could always try a more challenging 8km route by taking the route up the local Worsendale Hill and across the top of the Wold and back down into the village. Although not for the faint-hearted, the view on a clear day from the top is magnificent.
