The Tiny Haven is a private cabin building on a quiet street with multiple beach access points located on Salt Spring Island, British Columbia, Canada. The cozy wood cabin can accommodate up to 4 guests with 2 bedrooms, 3 beds, and 1 bathroom. During your vacation stay, you’ll have the entire tiny house to yourself. The Tiny Haven is nestled amongst the tall cedars, situated in the magical south end of Salt Spring Island and is surrounded by rolling farmland, idyllic and secluded beaches, and lush rainforest. Whether you are hoping to get some quiet or looking for an adventure in nature, you’ll feel right at home in this private, self-contained, and uniquely appointed tiny house space.
The Tiny Haven is a 330 square foot custom-built tiny house design for up to 4 guests, including children 5 years of age and older. The owners have lovingly built this tiny house themselves with a focus on using reclaimed and natural building materials, and with its large and ample windows and warm wood tones, you’ll have a sense of the surrounding natural world being invited inside.
The tiny house boasts many unique features, including a kneeling-height sleeping loft with a queen-sized bed, accessible by a sturdy wooden ladder. The Tiny Haven loft is an adult-only space, not suitable for children under the age of 12. The second bedroom offers cot-sized bunk beds, suitable for children 5 years old and above, and has its outside entrance and attached deck. The front of the tiny house features a large covered deck and a private fenced area, perfect for relaxing and enjoying the peace and tranquility of the quiet neighborhood. There is a barbecue on the deck. During your vacation stay, you can venture to the nearby farm stands and enjoy preparing your meals in the well-appointed kitchen, complete with a gas stovetop and oven. The Tiny Haven has a bathroom that is equipped with an eco-sensitive and user-friendly Separett composting toilet.
The tiny house feels surprisingly spacious inside, but you’ll want to note that interior doorways, hallways, and shower are slightly more narrow than standard and the kitchen ceiling height is 6 feet 3 inches at the lowest point. So you will find that tall, broad-shouldered folks may need to dip occasionally. During your vacation stay, you can explore the road’s four beach access points, including the gorgeous Tsawout Reserve Trail that connects by foot to nearby Fulford Harbour and its quaint shops and eateries. You can also launch a kayak, play or forage in the surrounding woods, or hike through the forest, field, and shore habitats of nearby Ruckle Park. You can use the complimentary bikes and pedal through the breathtaking pastoral scenery of south Salt Spring Island.
Breakfast at the tiny house is self-catered, and the owners supply some local breakfast supplies to include coffee, tea, cream, milk, eggs, butter, fruit, jam, and granola. The tiny house kitchen pantry also offers some items for your convenience for packing food for day trips, such as cloth metal lunch tiffins, grocery bags, travel mugs, mason jars, reusable water bottles, and a beer/cider growler.
